Kevin Bennett, MBA, SPHR
Board member and Treasurer of HAVEN
Kevin is employed as a Human Resources Consultant by Yoh Managed Staffing. His primary clients are GE Transportation Systems in Erie and Grove City , PA, GE Lighting in Cleveland, Ohio and GE Harris Harmon in Melbourne, FL. A life long resident of Erie, Kevin received his undergraduate and graduate degrees form Gannon University and was recently certified as "Senior Professional of Human Resource Management" by HRIC. He is also a member of the Human Resource Management Association of NWPA, The Society of Human Resource Management and was recently named Yoh MSS’s 2000 volunteer of the year.
Kevin’s involvement with the Hemophilia community began when his 6-year-old son Michael was diagnosed with severe Hemophilia A in 1996. Since that time, Michael and both his parents have benefited greatly from participation in the Hemophilia support group and HAVEN. Kevin and Michael’s mother home treat Michael through his mediport, which was implanted in May 2000. Home infusion is a major accomplishment considering that Kevin had a history of fainting at the sight of needles. Home infusion has given Michael and his parents a sense of freedom and control that was missing when they treated at the local Emergency Room.
